About MVP

Established in 1914, the Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj (MVPS) in Nashik, Maharashtra, India, stands as a distinguished hub of education, boasting over 110 years of dedicated service. With an annual budget of Rs. 991 Crores and 68 lakhs for the year 2023-24, the MVPS operates under the guidance of 10,197 permanent members and 463 sevak members, functioning democratically. The inception of MVPS can be credited to a group of dynamic social workers and educators, inspired by the legacies of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, and Rajashri Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur. Visionaries such as Karmaveer Raosaheb Thorat, Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hire, Karmaveer Kakasaheb Wagh, Karmaveer Annasaheb Murkute, Karmaveer Ganpat Dada More, Karmaveer D. R. Bhosale, Karmaveer Adv. B. G. Thakre, Karmaveer Adv. V. G. Hande, and Karmaveer Dr. Vasantrao Pawar laid the foundation of the Samaj, aiming to create a society rooted in culture and knowledge. The guiding principle of the Samaj is encapsulated in the motto, “Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhay,” emphasizing the well-being and happiness of the masses. Over the years, MVPS has expanded its reach, managing 492 educational institutes, solidifying its position as a premier organization under the jurisdiction of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. With a total student strength of approximately 2,20,889 across various institutes, including pre-primary schools, primary schools, high schools, junior colleges, senior colleges, pharmacy colleges, education colleges, architecture college, medical college, nursing college, agriculture college, polytechnic, engineering college, ITIs, and management institute, MVPS remains dedicated to nurturing minds and fostering holistic development. This monumental effort is supported by a workforce of 10,258 committed employees.
